Below are two videos showing highlights and some parent/wrestler testimonials about our club:
Our youth club continues its success. Recently we had great scrimmages vs Laguna Hills and Marco Forrester, and tournaments at San Clemente and Fountain Valley. The kids got great experience at all events, and we continue to bring home some great hardware at tournaments. Most recently, Caleb Park was awarded our first “Wrestler of the Month” for his recent performances, including a second place finish in the advanced division at Fountain Valley.
He is an exciting wrestler to watch. He is incredibly aggressive and attacks the legs non-stop.
Caleb’s accomplishments are extraordinary, for he is only a second year wrestler. He has worked very hard in the offseason, and it shows. He is defeating wrestlers who have many years more experience than he does, and is doing very well in the advanced division at tournaments. Hats off to him for all his hard work!
Our BK wrestlers have been quite active the past few weeks during the beginning of the season. Here are some highlights:
Jorge Gonzalez wrestled in his first tournament at Rowland Heights in December, and placed second! That earned him Wrestler of the Week honors:
Craig Phoenix, a second year wrestler, has been very impressive at the advanced level. He has placed in all tournaments he wrestled in. His performance at Brea earned him W.O.W honors for week 2:
We’ve traveled to a few other rooms too, participating in a scrimmage at San Clemente, and partaking in a clinic at Surfside in Huntington Beach, featuring 3x College D1 All-American (Northwestern) Jason Welch.
Lastly, the BKWC came up big at the Cerritos College Tournament of Champions this last Sunday. We took 8 wrestlers, and all 8 medaled in the top 3. This is the first time we’ve ever medaled all our entries, and 8 medalists is a record number for us too. Gerardo Hernandez was named W.O.W for finishing first in the advanced division:
Things are looking up for us, and we have lots to celebrate. We are at it again this week with a scrimmage at Laguna Hills and a tournament at San Clemente.

Recently, on Friday Nov 2, the CVHS Booster Club hosted a youth clinic for novice wrestlers in grades k-8. All the kids had fun, and got a lot of good instruction and attention from the many coaches and counselors in attendance. Some pictures are below

The location is Capistrano Valley High School’s wrestling room.
Clinic is limited to the first 35 that register. To register, email firstname.lastname@example.org and provide your child’s name and grade level.
