A HUGE thanks goes out to all who came out to our spring program the last six weeks. Each night we had between 15 and 25 kids. We greatly enjoyed your enthusiasm, and are happy that you “caught the bug” for our wonderful sport.
The picture below is of the Wednesday crew the last week. See you all in July (summer camp info is in the post under this one)!
Watch the following highlight video from the Rosemead tournament, featuring a few Big Kat Wrestlers (among others)!
This past Sunday, four Big Kat wrestlers particpated in a tournament at Rosemead High School (The tournament at Vista was cancelled, so after discussing other options with those who wanted to compete, we decided on Rosemead).
Gio, Gerardo, Rodrigo, and Brandon did an excellent job and had great fun. All four won at least one match. Gio placed third, Gerardo and Rodrigo second. Everyone got good experience and improved their skills.
Competition is perhaps the best way to improve skills and is highly encouraged. It’s also a lot of fun. Next competitions is Mon Jan 9 at Capo vs. Marco Forrester Middle School. We’d like everyone to attend and participate. Last year it was tons of fun with a lot of energy to go around.
Here is a pic from this weekend, and a video of Gio (makin a kid quit!):
Be on the lookout the next few weeks for the Big Kat logo (our banner on this site). We’re busy posting banners at key middle and elementary schools, and flyers will go out to families of those schools in late September. We just posted a banner at Castille and Newhart. Hankey will get one tomorrow. Though small, the banners should help get the word out.
