Youth Sports Partners: Saddleback Valley Pop Warner

If your athlete is in elementary or middle school, it is important that s/he plays and tries multiple sports.  One sport that meshes very well with wrestling is football.  We have recently partnered up with a great youth football organization: Saddleback Valley Pop Warner.  Football is great at building aggressiveness, strength, and a love for contact that easily transfers over to the wrestling mat.  The best thing is that football is in the fall and wrestling is in the winter, so you can participate in both sports! Registration for their 2015 season is under way.  Get on it!

1 Day Clinic

Friday, Nov 1, the CVHS Wrestling Booster Club will host a 1 day wrestling clinic from 8am-3pm during CUSD’s “student free day.”

This is a great opportunity for you to get some cost-effective childcare while your child has fun and learns about a new sport at the same time.

Requested donation is $45.  Lunch will be provided.  For those that bring their own lunch, requested donation is $40.

The location is Capistrano Valley High School’s wrestling room.

Clinic is limited to the first 35 that register.  To register, email capovalleywrestling@gmail.com and provide your child’s name and grade level.

Little Big Kats

We have elected to not continue our Little Big Kats Class for the remainder of the winter.  We still continue with our regular weekly program though.  For more info on that, see the session info tab above or email bigkatwrestlingclub@gmail.com

This season we have a new class: the “Little Big Kats” class.  This is an introductory youth sports class for Mission Viejo, San Juan Capistrano, and surrounding Orange County youth for the sport of wrestling.  For young athletes in grades K-3, it is designed to teach them basic wrestling skills in a low key and fun environment. Each session includes not only basic skills instruction, but lots of games, and bodyweight calisthenics. Runs on Saturdays from 10-11:15 starting Dec 7 and running concurrent with the regular program through February. Each session is $7.

To register, follow the instructions on our “Session information” page.  Note: t-shirt/shorts/singlet only comes with enrollment in the regular weekday program, not the “Little Big Kats” class.
